Be Mine in 2010

Aston's been so into art lately, I decided to capitalize on it this Valentine's Season...we went all out this year. We started weeks in advance and first things first he created these flowers for his bestest girlfriends (jeff and I constructed them mostly and he decorated)...DSC_0044.JPGNext he was tasked with creating 12 Valentine creatures for his classmates and his friend Jacob...he was totally into being the best glue-stick-operator in town (something he got dinged on in his progress report from school:))...and went crazy with the googly eyesDSC_0008.JPGHere's the spread...some got the shaft but for the most part he put arms and legs on them in such a manor that makes them recognizable as "beings" ...we had so much fun (not shown: the 10 Valentine Fortune Cookies we made for BB and Babs Chinese New Year party last night...he passed them out to many of the party goers)DSC_0039.JPGAston gets to pick out 1 Valentine per Day from his V-Day bag from school (contains Valentine's from all his classmates). He still has like 6 to go...It's like Christmas everyday. Here he is proudly handling his lolli from Kate Kate (this is his 'I'm excited but I'm not gonna show it' face)DSC_0057.JPGThis is the card the kids gave to Jeff this morning:) No inside photo but it has a picture of Aston and Stellyn goofing around togther and race tracks illustrated by Aston. DSC_0160.JPGAston showing the camera the card from Jeff and I to the kids...love the photo idea (inspired by the Valentine Aston got from Griffin with his photo on it)...they can't read so a picture says a million words at this age:) I sprinkled some candy hearts in the envelope hence his 'mouth full' look...DSC_0146.JPGMy card from Jeff and the kids...brought to me in bed by the A-man himself...DSC_0161.JPGAlong with these heart pancakes! They tasted even better than they look and meant even more than you know...even though I was aware they were coming it's just the whole idea of Aston and Daddy bonding in the kitchen while I get to cuddle with Mei; that tickles me I guessDSC_0089.JPGThen they surprised Stelly with her very own mini-heart pancakes...which she devoured in 2 minutes of course! (On the right is the front of my card...hearts drawn by Aston with Daddy's help :))

It's an odd place to throw this in, I know, but I just want to be sure to document it. Last weekend the three of us Moms (Kathryn, Anne and I) spent the night uptown at the Ritz to celebrate Baby Bean (Anne's #2 due March 12th!) upcoming arrival. We had an amazing time together:

  1. We started out with spa treatments
  2. Moved on to dinner at BLT
  3. Then back to the room to review our wedding albums (because none of us attended each others and Kathryn thought we should do a little show and tell...brilliant!),
  4. Then off to bed...only to be awakened at 4am to an alarm clock that had a mind of it's own...apparently Kathryn ended up ripping it out of the wall and tossing it out into the hallway (I was in the living room area on the pull-out so I missed all this action)
  5. Then breakfast at BLT
  6. And then sadly checked out where Kathryn (and Anne too) proceeded to complain about a few incidents (such as the alarm going off at 4am)...I didn't want to be associated but I admit it all paid off:)...they took half off the bill for the room and then some...sheesh!

so I guess it's not all that weird that I put it in here...we celebrated our friendship and that's a little Valentinzy:)...it was just a very fun, kid-free time to hang out and just be ourselves...so when can we do this again?DSC_0003.JPG
