Last weekend Tai Yeh Yeh (Great Grandfather in Chinese) turned a whopping 90 years old! Babs and BB organized a party at Dim Sum (where else!)
On the way there in the car we asked Aston how old Tai Yeh was going to be. He said "He's 90. I wanna be 90 too."
Aston ran in the restaurant yelling at the top of his lungs "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAI YEH YEH!" because he's consciously aware that Tai Yeh is hard of hearing:) He also came prepared with a card he made and a gift he picked out special a week before at Target. I let him loose at Target to pick out something special for Tai Yeh. He hemmed and hawed for several minutes in the toy car section (of course) and he finally made the decision to purchase "Blue Thunder". Blue Thunder is a monster truck who happened to be present at the Monster Jam show he attended a few weeks back. Tai Yeh was very gracious:)

Tai Grandma showcasing the card Aston made (another race track in case you were wondering)
So Uncle Jim and Cousin Jim (Babs brother and nephew) flew in from Boston and surprized Tai Yeh and Tai Grandma for the big night. The way we heard the story was they hid behind a tree on Queen's Road while the Tai's were on a walk. Uncle Jim called Grandma on her cell and talked about how chilly it was up in Boston to throw her off and moments later they jumped out as they strolled by...ha!

Everybody's happy when Mei is riding on Aunt Regina's shoulders...but when the roles are reversed...not so much:)
Mei did get a little crank for a while so Wo Wo decides heck "if you can beat 'em join 'em"
Pounding a chop stick demanding her food:)
Aston opening his "hong bao" (little red envelope containing money given to children that symbolize luck...usually given at family gatherings) from Tai Yeh and Tai Grandma
Stell, now with hat head, dancin' and prancin' with Babs and Tai Yeh
Cheers Tai Yeh!
Stell demonstrating her "straw" skills and opening her "hong bao"
Aston: "Tai Yeh lemme show you how this puppy rolls"
This is the cake Babs order from Tizzerts. It was beautifully decorated with a dragon and had "long life" written in Chinese characters.
Here's a very chaotic video of the happenings around the cake:
The family shot (the one with Regina came out even worse than this one:( boo)
Meet Annie. Annie is the most amazing waitress in charlotte! Especially if you ask Aston. He loves her like crazy. Annie caters to his every need (within reason). She brings him sponge cake (only if he eats his dinner). She brings him in the kitchen to watch the cooking staff prepare the food. She brings him fruit, fortune cookies and lollipops on his way out. She really is wonderful. She is very motherly and genuinely concerned for his wellbeing and safety (i.e. won't let him stand up on the chairs). The best part is he listens to her. I guess because he knows his sponge cake is in jeopardy if he doesn't:)
Here she grabbed him a balloon from another kid's birthday party going on and tied it to Grave Digger so it wouldn't fly away...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAI YEH YEH!!!!!
