For Puo Puo's (Tai Puo to the kids) 90th birthday she wanted to have all of her family together on a cruise ship. And boy did she make it happen. On December 16th 2012 all 18 of us boarded the Ruby Princess for a 7 day Caribbean cruise. The kids had been waiting for this moment for months. What an extraordinary gift to all of us. Here's how the special week began...

The travel to Fort Lauderdale was as seamless as it could be. I think we've crossed the big scary travel hurdle with the kids...we are at the point where is almost fun versus highly stressful to fly with the 2 of them. YIPPY!
Puo Puo has been on over 65 cruises so she is an elite member on most cruise lines. Her status got us on the ship within minutes otherwise we would have had to stand in a mile long line for hours. Once boarded we did a little exploring...
LEFT TO RIGHT(some of these I posted a while ago...so bear with me): the kids club on the ship, stell took a picture of me on the plane, stell posing, stell practicing getting on her life jacket, navigating the airport, kids club from outside, putt putt on ship, back of the boat view, more stell poses, our room, family poses...
The first beach day/port day was at Princess Cays (an island owned and operated by Princess Cruises). The kids had a blast in the sand with their cousins Aiden (9) and Dylan (4) then we rented glass bottom kayaks and paddle boats to try to burn off some of that ship food that was already making itself at home in our bellies.
Babs organized a fancy dinner in the Michael Angelo dinning room that second night to celebrate Puo Puo's birthday and thank her for bringing us all together. It was a good 3 + hour dinner so i took more pictures than necessary....just wish I had my flash! The food was probably the best we had all week...
This is Puo Puo's youngest sister (we call her Yi Puo)! The kids adored her. She works part time in a preschool so she's got skills:)
After dinner we went out for ice cream and more exploration...
then back to our room for a little r & r...
notice the caution sign...we had many close calls but luckily we escaped with no bunk kerplunks!
