Aston’s big day ended with a BBQ. He invited BB, Babs, Aunt Wo Wo, Jay Jay, Shannon and Ryan. The food was great of course (sadly I didn’t contribute). Wo Wo made a Greek country salad, BB made the cakes (see below) and a whole grain salad and Jeff made the ribs. It was my favorite kind of party…small and simple...bada bing bada bang! With the main focus on hanging out and visiting with friends and family. Aston was high on life the whole night. Of course he was…he had the full attention of everyone in attendance from 5:30pm to 9:30pm, when he finally went to bed.
Jeff and I cannot believe how BIG Aston is. We have a real deal 2 year old on our hands and it is truly an amazing age. I realize I have said “this is my favorite age” at every stage of Aston’s life but I was never lying. The fact is, each stage gets better and better all the while each gets harder and harder.
Happy 2nd Birthday A-Man!
We love you Aston…you have become such a BIG shinny light in our little family of now 4.

The amazing choo choo train cake by BB…ingenious really…she didn’t use any frosting on either cake so as not to “sugar up” Mr. A too much. She used chocolate covered sunflower seeds, dried fruits among other slightly healthier options…I recycled the candles from Kate and Aston’s Thomas party.
This is the car cake…6 miniature cars all done up…Aston was in heaven!
We let him have at it. His focus was on the “emmies” (M&M’s) and chocolate covered sunflower seeds…he was looking at all of us like “shouldn’t you be stopping me?”…He was shoveling these things in because he thought at any moment we were going to take it away…
but we didn’t…
and he stuffed himself silly…

Wow...Aston is two years old...what a great party for all!! BB's frostingless Thomas cake was amazing!! The ribs looked terrific as well...best wishes to the birthday boy!

Aston and now Stellyn has brought so much joy to our lives. We wish Asty all the best as he starts his third year. We look forward to many more babysitting assignments, visits to Pike's for lunch, rides on the choo choo and feeble attempts not to spoil him rotten. Happy B-Day Asty!!!!! Love always, BABA and BB.
