Friday Night Shabbat at the Brown's

On Friday night all the Lee's were invited to the Brown's house for their cool weekly Shabbat dinner. In the car on the way over there Aston kept asking where Larry Sprinkle lives? and How much further? It took us a minute but we finally got why he was asking. As many of you know Aston is a big fan of our local weather man, Larry Sprinkle and even got to meet him this year at the car show. So when we told him we were going to "Mr. Larry and Ms. Tracy's" house he automatically assumed "Larry Sprinkle"...Larry Brown...you'd be happy to know he's all straight now and soon became just as much a "Larry and Tracy" fan:)

Tracy created a beautiful spread of salmon, brisket, asparagus and roasted potatoes...followed by an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G chocolate cake, chocolate banana pie (Annie made this...it just happened to be Annual Pi Day last weekend...how lucky were we? It was absolutely DELIC!), cookies (by BB...Yum Yum!...BB made the challah too which was perfect as always) and ice cream. I think it was the first real-deal sit down dinner at a friends house we've done with the kids? We sat at a "super duper" (Aston's new favorite word) long table that sat 12 of us. The kids, ranging from 2 (Aston) to almost 17 (Sam), sat at one end of the table (Babs joined them to keep an eye on Aston) and us grown-ups sat at the other end. Aston did "super duper" himself. In fact I had to keep glancing down at the kids end of the table to be sure I wasn't hallucinating. He looked like such a big kid. It made me kind of sad. He was laughing with Annie, Katie, Sammy (the Brown kiddos) and their friends like he totally got their jokes and stuff...geez...

Nothing too great for pictures but we had such a special time that I have to at least share what I got (with much Lightroom help). Wish I snapped some of Tracy's beautiful dinner but of course I missed the moment. So bummed.

I mean look at him...all listenin' in on big kid conversation with Annie and friend Nicky

Annie (and Katie too) were so amazingly attentive to Aston and Stell. They gave Jeff and me the greatest gift...to actually sit and enjoy our dinner!

Consulting with Babs about something important. Probably having to do with whether he can have another ice cream scoop or steal another piece of candy from the Brown's pantry

Can we say "BABYSITTERS"...Katie left, Annie right:

Apple doesn't fall far...Tracy teaches preschool (2's) just for the fun of it...she and Aston bonded immediately!

Nicky and Annie took Aston upstairs to play dress up...something I know he loves but this is how they came down...HA!:

Beebs and Stell. Stelly had a hard night. She was running on one short nap and therefore was a CRANK monster...boo...

Aston and Sam having a "MAN" moment...it's so funny to me how differently he acts around "big guys" (all macho like) versus girls (all silly like)

Sam and Katie attempting to give Stell some "snugs"...too bad she was so crank because normally she's the SNUGGLES queen!

Thank you Brown Family. We hope to see more of you all. You are a BIG "family idol" of ours...we can only hope our kids turn out to be as crazy cool as yours are...Shalom!

All of your photos looks AMAZING!! I especially love the one of BB and Stell - it looks like it could be from the 50's, and the coloring on the one with Aston and Sam - too cool! Can't believe how BIG Stell is; it's hard to believe that we don't really have "babies" anymore, isn't it?
