Most of the sculptures had their own guards and ropes around them. For this one we sweet talked our way closer. I simply explained to the guard that these 2 are getting married tomorrow and they would love it if they could be photographed by their dream house:)
There was this really amazing tree that was completely silver coated...I was obsessed...felt like we couldn't do it justice because there were people swarming all around it...boooo
Next up we spotted this totally awesome, HUGE door across the street from the garden. So like magnets to metal we got sucked in...but first we had to cross the street:)
Meg thought she was so funny because she flagged this bus down and poor Newman had to explain to the driver that his soon-to-be-wife is a crazy woman and we didn't really want to ride his bus...oye...
more lensbaby fun...still bright though...dang it
hold on...we're getting to the door... but first a little smooch while I switch lenses...
check it out!
kiss the doors goodbye...
and say hello to the National Air and Space Museum...
Meg liked the Vermont...
reenacting the preview board behind them...
Not really sure what this building was but it was SWEET!... love.love.love how they look like they're suddenly in Miami!
Then back at the Capital of the USA...
this is favorite of the bunch:)
awhhhhh...finally...let there be good light...
Love this one...this is a face I know and love...my sister
we could have taken a few hundred more but friends and family awaited them back at the Hotel Lombardy for drinks and bites to eat.

Kate Adams Mercier Lee...you are a fantastic photographic artist! Wow...Love the photos at the Capital and Air and Space...of course the Fagship Vermont and Megan standing by the attributes of a flight attendant poster...fantastic! you captured Newman looking so lovingly at Meg...your photos by the silvery tree were amazing...thank you for sharing your talent with Meg and Newman and their entire circle of family and friends...love, Mom/Gram
:) loves gram's comment. so already touched on my amazement of these but a few more comments...one favorite and one that needs to be displayed in their house, in my opi, is that one where they're kissing in front of the doors/silverish, think it's lensbaby? cool. love the under leg pose, great idea/artsy quality. love all the coolness with the sunglasses and their expressions. love the let there be light nuzzely ones. love that you popped in on one too. great great work.
so, so great kate!! love all the fun you guys had exploring the city together before their big day. surely that time together will remain etched in all your memories. love your fav of meg. and so love that you guys got one together (pretty sure everyone that saw you guys was knocked out by such a super hip/striking photographer, too!) these are so great -- they need them in an engagement album!
kate these are so awesome and cool! you need to put these in an engagement album!!! super hip and fun photo shoot! you got so creative with your angles i love it, like under the leg, etc. would have never even thought of that. awesome awesome!
Wow, Kate! These are simply AMAZING! Love all of them; Meg and Newman are going to have a tough time picking out their favs! The building with the curved lines is the Smithsonian Museum for the American Indians; it was designed without a single straight line; one of my favorite buildings in DC.
