Stellyn’s 3 Month Milestone Minutes

I remember with Aston, 3 months was a huge milestone. I felt like we had “arrived”. We finally could take a deep breath and say “ok…I think we can handle this”. With Mei it’s a little different –A- she is #2 and –B- she is just way more chill and –C- WE are just way more chill. This time around, 3 months represents a huge family milestone too but more because at this point we have some routine down and everybody knows their role in our “semi” well-oiled-machine.

Stell sits in her Bumbo for much of her waking day now…she just loves that bird’s eye view…probably so she can keep a watchful eye on her brother. She loves Aston…even though he is a bit rough at times…she can’t get enough of him. She follows his every move all the while smiling and chit chatting! Stell is the chattiest baby I know…she talks to anyone and everything…it’s my favorite Mei trait yet!

1st Time Wearing Barrettes:

We all are doing very well with sleep. We never worry too much about getting our rest. Usually she will do 5-7 hours then another 2-4 hours…only to get up and feed for 10-20 minutes in between. There have been a few testy nights but nothing too crazy. She is doing quite well eating this month not nearly the dramatic spit up attacks or the squirmy eating sessions. The Prevacid may be the reason she is feeling better but I think her system is just maturing too. She tends to be congested a lot and we need to use the nasal aspirator on her several times a day.

 

Stelly has some amazing skills for a 2 to 3 month old (says her Mom with absolutely no partiality…ha!). She rolls over to her left…back to front (well almost…she’s still working on getting her shoulder out of the way) and has fully rolled from belly to back 1x. She hangs out a lot on her playmat batting at her toys or in her crib watching and chatting to her mobile. She can reach for her toys, grab something and bring it to her mouth.

Important Dates:

8/21/09 – Laughed for the first time.  It was at her brother of course. While we were putting him to bed he was making funny faces and silly 2 year old noises

8/23/09 (3 months 1 day) – Fully rolled over from belly to back (left side) while on her playmat! (looked it up: Aston rolled over on his 3 month birthday but from back to belly)

and while we are comparing…Mei isn’t quite 12 pounds yet…Aston was 16 1/2 pounds at 3 months!…but she is just about the same height as he was…

Best of all…Stelly is so very very mild mannered and super cuddly…she molds to you when you hold her.  I have such a hard time staying away from her during the day. She gives me butterflies in my belly every time I see her…I kiss her way too much…and I can’t get enough of her smiles…she has this way of shrugging her shoulders when she gives you a really big smile making it all the more genuinely heart-melting.

 

 

 

 

 

Also wanted to note that Stelly was invited to Katie’s 30th birthday party this month…she was a party animal!  I mean check out her dancing shoes!  Happy Big Girl Birthday Katie…!
