Aston’s 26 Month Milestone Minutes

A Few New Aston Phrases and Funnies:

• We say “Aston go get your sippy cup” he will say “Ok! I get it"
• “OK guys…come on guys…hey guys!”
• “What’s dat sound? Mommy? A diesel truck?…” then he will answer himself… “maybe?”
• “What is Thomas doing down there? Silly Thomas come here!” after Thomas fell out of his bed
• “I not supposed do dat” will hear him chanting this when he is secretly doing something he’s not supposed to…have to crack up…and love that he tells on himself…
• Enthusiastically says things like “Yes! I know it!” or “Yes! I did!” or “ Yes! think so”
• I said Aston was that truck blue? “I tink so Mommy…not sure…maybe?”
• Says “two ones” for both of them
• I put one of Mei’s bows in my hair and he said “Moms dats pretty”
• Sometimes says “Hey Tweet Monster” to Mei because we call her tweets:)
• He’s into “soooo”…he’ll say “Dat’s soooo awesome” or “dats soooo cold” or “I soooo tired” or “I full…sooooo full!”
• “I like cars Mommy…Yes! I do!”
• “I go to Target, get a blue Diesel flat bed tow truck, now!”
• “Mei Mei stop crying!!!!!!!!”
• “You miss brother, Mei?” after he spent the night at BB’s
• “I missed you Mommy…I LOOOOVVVE you!” usually to get my attention
• “Dat truck just like Bruce’s truck?” when he sees any big white GMC SUV
• “Wait up Mommy…I coming!”
• “Daddy Mad at you?” asks Daddy this when he’s giving him the silent treatment for bad behavior…really means “Daddy are you mad at me?”
• "He will say “what’s dat sound”, I will say “I think it was a motorcycle”, he will say “was it?…Ohhhh!” or “Ohhhhhh yes!”
  

New Chinese Words:

• Da Ge – Burp :)
• Asty somehow can differentiate between English and Chinese.  For example, he'll say, "Thank you, Babs", and I'll respond for Jeff by saying "bu ke chi" (Chinese for "you're welcome") and Asty's immediate response, without my prompting at all, is to thank Jeff again but in Chinese, saying, "Xie xie, Babs".  We just think it's so cute. (Thanks BB for the contribution!)

We are currently at a stand still with the Chinese…I have installed Rosetta Stone and set it all up but need to organize a regularly scheduled study regime for us…:) 

New Favorite Foods:
Carrots and Ranch, cereal in his yogurt… really everything is about the preparation/presentation nowadays

Rascal Traits:

• “Mine” is a true pet peeve of ours…and something Aston says numerous times a day now…he knows where to push buttons
• Whenever we get in the car to go back home from being out somewhere he always insists on going to the grocery store to get a cookie or to Target to get a new blue diesel truck or to Kate’s house or to the pizza place…these whinny suggestions are often followed by “NO HOME!, Mommy”
• Whining:(
• Screaming to wake his sister up and just in general…loves to wake Mei Mei up…I truly believe that it’s his mission in life to wake her up and I get completely stressed out about it…constantly having to divert!

 Other Notables this Month:

• Calls BB, “Beebs”  calls me “Moms”…makes up all these funny nicknames for people out of the blue
• He is very interested in bugs and naming them when he sees them…like wasps, bumble bees, spiders, flies, mosquitoes, ants
• Been really into his Thomas table lately.  Noticing that he plays with his trains in a whole new way.  He role plays/pretends/makes up stories…I really think the stories are inspired by the show which is cool
• Whats and Whys are starting already…”What happened?”, “What’s dat?”, “Dat yours?”, “Why”, “Mommy what you have in dere?”
• Every time he wakes up from naps he asks “where we going Mommy?” “playgroup?” “Target?”
