Stellyn's 7 + 8 Month Milestone Minutes

Foods:

• Mei is an EATER! The kind who will sit and eat for hours if you let her. She loves everything so far but she has some things that she gets crazy excited for...like spinach (sauteed), bananas (whole!), Cheerios...and pretty much everything actually. She feeds herself things like Puffs, bananas, pizza dough, edamame, apple slices, mango slices, ham, chicken, beef, salmon, veggie sticks and crackers but I still feed her the jars about 2x per day and of course nurse her about 4-5x per day. She uses her index and thumb fingers to grab her Cheerios and Puffs...I am very impressed because I think Aston was like 12 months before he did that. She's into throwing/dropping food to get our reaction and just for her own all around entertainment.

Notables:

• Stell is crawling like a champ (she took her first real crawl steps right at 7 months and mastered it right before she turned 8 months just a week ago now)...before then she was a speedy army crawler from about 6-7 months and still preferred it to the real thing up until a couple weeks ago
• Started going from seated to a crawl at about 7.5 months and crawl to seated about a week later
• She climbed up on real low to the ground objects right before 8 months but didn't really pull up until this week (so I need to put that in next month's milestones)
• Sleeping is MUCH better still...she sleeps through the night (unless she's sick)...she gets up about 2x per night and cries for a couple minutes but then falls right back to sleep.
• Takes 2 naps per day...one around 10am and then again around 2pm...for around 1 hour each.
• She stands at her play table and loves it...but she has a hard time getting down and she's not real real stable yet.
• The YMCA Childwatch ladies tell me she is in the throws of separation anxiety. She panics a little bit when I leave and then won't let the ladies leave her...and if another baby comes near her on the play mat she screams at them (her brother has taught her this defense mechanism)
• Babbling all over the place and seems to mimic sounds sometimes? Could be dreaming...
• Still giving her Previcid for her reflux
• Started signing with her just introducing the easy ones like please, more, milk
• She flips right away when I dress her and I am having the hardest time dressing her lately
• She loves her hair clip ribbon (all her barrettes clip to this hanging ribbon in our bathroom). I show it to her in the morning and we pick out the perfect ribbon for her outfit...she completely lights up when she sees it...she swings her feet and flaps her arms and has the goofiest grin...much like the one when he is about to get fed
• Her first 2 teeth broke through on Christmas Day (just turned 7 months)...no joke she got her 2 front teeth for Christmas (bottom ones)
• She still loves to play with all of Aston's cars but she does love her baby dolls too
• Oh! and she dances! BB discovered this just after Christmas time (about 7.5 months). She would rock back and forth while sitting and listening to her ABC caterpillar (kept at BB's house) sing ABC's...I love this new trick...so much so that I play children's music when we eat dinner just so I can watch her dance while I feed her.
• Overall she's a sweetie...but now she's a sweetie with an agenda...she's just busy...too busy for cuddles now...just a busy lady learning and exploring

This was right after Christmas...I tried to get her crawling on film but you know who just wanted to horse around with her...

Compare photos: Here's a few of Aston at 7.5 months...look at the mad skills he has...he could pull to standing and then step up on his toy to give him another 8" boost...yikes Mei...you best be practicing! And check out those buns and thighs! HUGE compared to Mei! Not to mention the feet on him!
