I woke up on Sunday to 2 kids jumping on top of me with a Mother's Day card in their hands (see below). They made it with Dad and it was perfect. He had traced both of their hands, Aston did some artwork and so did Daddy (the tractor).
We had some light breakfast together in the morning. Notice how Mei has her own seat at the table now? Stokke makes a cool big Table Top placemat now...and I LOVE it!
So remember about my camera ooops? I am now using my old Nikon D40x with my new, on trial, Tamron 10-24mm lens...I say "on trial" because I still may return it...they are letting me keep it until I get my D90 back from Nikon so I can try it on that body...so far it's a very fun lens but I am still having a hard time getting it sharp enough. It's a wide angle zoom lens that I'm definitely still trying to figure out. I also got a SB-600 flash that I totally don't know how to use yet (it will be apparent in the subsequent photos) but seems like it could be a lifesaver. I literally took it out of the box and attached it to my camera and went to t.o.w.n.
So back to Mother's Day! We went to Blue for brunch. Tai Po has been visiting from California. She is absolutely amazing with the kids. Can you believe she's 87!
Food was wonderful! I think? Always so chaotic with 2 tots in tow...
Mei ate more than me and Aston combined...I'm sure of it...this is her 3rd plate (ok...shared plate...with Dad)
Aston insisted on being the "special delivery" man. He delivered all the "Mom" gifts to the Moms around the table.
Beebs and Aston...
Mei demanding "Mo" (more)...I couldn't keep up with her consumption...
Showing Tai Po his new race car...
All the Mom's...and Tai Yeh for entertainment! Tai Grandma and Tai Yeh were in town for mother's day too...so remarkable to have 3 sets of great grandparents in the same place at the same time...
Love this one...Mei is staring at the camera while patting Wook on the cheek...as if she's trying to get Aunt Wook to pose properly.
twins...
From Blue we just had to walk up these stairs...
Yup...these stairs...
Then take the elevators...to the 24th floor...
Where we got to see Bab's new office! He now works for a new firm called Winstead. He had just moved in the week before so please excuse the unpacked boxes. It has beautiful 180 degree views of the city. Here's Stell walking to Aunt Wook...
Mei was immediately drawn to this canvas photo of Aston (Aston actually thought it was a photo of Mei Mei when he first saw it). Notice the embroidered bloomers...Anne gave them to Stell a few weeks back just because...and I adore them...
Aston had his nose stuck to the window the whole time...check out the trains and the trucks and the cars of course...
The Tai's and the kids admiring the view...
LEFT: The BB pile-up RIGHT: Wook and Stell were joined at the hip all day
Is this not the epitome of Mother's Day?
Family of 4 taken by Aunt Wook...what-a-day!

What a perfect day!! Love that you were with so much family. Can't believe that Tai Po is 87! She must have a fountain of youth in her backyard. Love the picture of Stellyn w/ her hand on her auntie. So, so, so, so precious/cute/love it. Love that she eats so much. Makes me giggle. And her hair in that first shot -- its getting so long! That view - WOWZA. Amazing. Love the family shot. :)
First off that black & white of BB on sofa with kids is awesome. really. cool mat stelly. need to get one eventually. so what's this about a new lens. feel left out about this. why this one, etc.? heard talk about it via email to group and meant to ask. love the wide angle though. it's just cool to have that option. love the shot of mei at table demanding more and that pic of elevator waiting area with wook holding stell is cool-assuming different lens there too. been wanting to get an ext. flash for a while but never pulled the trigger. lemme know what you think of that one. does it take a while to reload? cool new digs babs. congrats!!!
