Kate + Jeff: 5 Years Young

On May 7th 2010 Jeff and I celebrated being married for 5 years! Big right?

Well I woke up to this: 20100507-DSC_0203.jpg

Breakfast in bed..."hugs & kisses" style. I'm in love:) To the left of the meal is his annual "note" (blacked out on purpose:)) to me that we normally would roll up real tight and stuff into a large beer bottle that we've had since the beginning of Kate + Jeff. This was the first year it was too full to add to so now we have graduated to a very large storage container. This must mean we are in "it" for the long haul!

I had this waiting for him at his spot at the table (I go to bed later than he does so I planted it there the night before:)). Nothing too special...just a Bodum beer glass and the inspirational book "Where will you be in 5 years from today?"...and of course my annual letter to him.

Since I chose to hang with the Pioneer Woman over my husband of 5 years, we missed dinner out on our actual anniversary. We made up for it a week later (this past Friday). Aunt Wook came over to sit for us and we went to good ol' Barrington's for some always amazing food. Thanks Wook!

cute. love the photos. we do the letters to each other on anniversary too but we don't have a designated spot to keep them, we each just have them stuffed in our bedside drawers. you have inspired me to find a good designated area/album or something. happy anni! thanks for spending it with me ;)

we've got a journal of letters to one another from ages ago - so glad to know we're not the only dorks. jeff gets creativity points on the xo pancake breakfast - too clever!

oh how i love this tradition of yours. might start one like it on our 10th this year (and like kate, i think part of the specialness is that you have a cool spot for the letters). happy anniversary!!
(5 years is a good year to celebrate with a mud run, yes? :)

Awww...love the xo breakfast in bed; so cute! Kirk and I don't do letters to each other, but I think you've inspired me to add a little something to our anniversary! Happy Anniversary!
