Meet Lizzy:
She's our domesticated lizard who lives on our deck
Under the umbrella stand is one of her many hiding places
Lizzy is so tame...she lets Mei get within 6 inches of her (notice the big baby shadow...that's Mei coming to get a closer look)...
Lizzy's the guardian of our deck. There isn't a day that goes by where we can't find her hanging out on the ledge of the deck...keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity...
Lizzy got her name last year when we first spotted her in this same spot.
Aston remembered her name this season...we were floored...
surely it's not the same lizard right?
Seriously...everyday we head out on the deck and find Lizzy basking in the sun in one of three spots...here's one of them...
Meet Swampy:
He's new to our backyard...we found him wandering aimlessly in the lawn the other day.
He was a hearty turtle and wasn't shy. He hissed at us a couple times when he got too close but never retreated into his shell.
Aston was worried swampy couldn't find his Mommy. He determined his Mom lived in the pond (a glorified name for the swamp that acts as run off for the golf course on our property). He steered him straight towards the pond...so he could be reunited with his Mom...
So long Swampy...hope to see you soon!
Here's the turtle video:

Awww...so cool! That turtle is awesome; love the stuff growing on his shell, and the names for lizzy and swampy are perfect. Love the story of Aston wanting swampy to go back to his mom!
